Preparing Your Space

Just like sleep is the best solution when you are tired, and eating a healthy meal is the best thing to do when you’re hungry, a retreat is the best remedy when you begin feeling disconnected from your inner wisdom. Detoxing from our busy schedules, allows us to recognize our habits of distraction and to upgrade our lives and realign with our values. The topics we cover in Self-Care for Mama Bear are the elements of the Women's MYRetreat:

Setting Intention

Guided Imagery

Mindfulness

Gratitude

I would love for you to join me at MYRetreat space. Until then, let's ensure that you are experiencing Self-Care for Mama Bear in a space that helps you relax and unwind.

Preparing Your Space:

Below are options for making your space most comfortable for you. Options are optional, use what you like and leave what you don't. If you have a spare guest room, favorite park bench, library nook, or an empty conference room, then claim that space. This retreat is meant for you to practice self-care, ANYWHERE.

Choose a space with soft and natural lighting. Place softness beneath you, a plush carpet is ideal, fuzzy socks are a great option too. Wear comfortable clothing. Enhance your environment with incense, a candle, or essential oils. Keep your seating simple, bolsters work well, or a sofa cushion can be brought to the floor to help you feel grounded. Select a few decorations which bring you joy. Make sure to select your favorite pen and journal.

This process helps to uncover your personal preferences. Whether you find all the items you desire in your home or purchase a new item to decorate your retreat space, keep gratitude and simplicity at the forefront of your mind. There will be tough moments during a retreat when you experience thoughts of resistance. Stick with it! That's how you strengthen your perseverance skills, which will serve you well. You are moments away from a breakthrough. Share below the items that you gathered for your retreat space!
